As teased earlier this month, Nuverse MMORPG Crystal of Atlan has indeed begun flipping out all the tricks up its sleeve for its first anniversary since launch back on May 21st, 2025.

First, today’s update introduces the new Karmaslayer class.

“After suffering grievous injuries and witnessing the murder of his friend, the ice-cold swordsman vowed to cut down all his foes,” the studio says.

“On his long quest for vengeance, he gradually conquered his inner demons and mastered the power to wield blades of ice and fire.

[…] [T]he Karmaslayer pierces enemies with his icy blade and calls forth a sword demon to burn his foes with infernal flames.” Notably, this class has no restrictions, so you can swap over to him right now.

Second, the anniversary event features multiple events (including a puzzle event), pets, outfits, vouchers, and a speed-running event with a vtuber group on May 23rd and 30th.

The accompanying patch does specifically include return events and awards for players who haven’t logged in since March 26th, along with class balancing and optimization.

It’s actually so many events that we don’t know how people are even meant to pick which ones to do first.

Good luck.

Finally, the game is in the middle of some transmedia synergy: a crosspromotiony collab with NieR Automata; it includes two outfits, a pet, weapon skins, titles, and a pair of mounts, as well as a Glory Eternal login even and a world boss event in which players fight the Machine Lifeform Grün on Fridays and Sundays.

Does it make sense?

Eh, not really, but that’s video games.
